Maryville man charged with solicitation of a minor
Blount County Sheriff James L. Berrong said today that a 21-year-old Maryville man is charged with solicitation of a minor after sending sexually explicit messages to a 15-year-old girl through a social networking site.
Daniel Ray Bryant, 21, Wells Avenue, Maryville, is being held on a $25,000 bond pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. March 12.
The Sheriff's Office HEAT (Hi-tech Evidence and Technology) Unit, along with the Maryville Police Department, was called to a Maryville business Wednesday night after a 15-year-old girl reported that a man she met and then chatted with on a social networking Internet site sent her sexually explicit messages while they were instant messaging. During the interview, Bryant admitted to sending her the messages.
