Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said three men were charged with promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine following an investigation initiated by the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force.

The following individuals were charged with promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine:
" Michael Hank Haven, 32, Laws Chapel Road, Maryville
" Michael James Boling, 35, Reservoir Road, Maryville
" Stanley Bentley, Childress Road, Powell
All three men are being held on a $50,000 bond each in the Blount County Detention Facility pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court. The court date has not yet been set. One female was released with no charges.
Investigators with the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force initiated an investigation on the individuals after they were notified that suspicious persons were attempting to purchase pseudoephedrine and other precursors at local businesses. Investigators initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle due to a traffic violation on Wilkinson Pike near Old Chilhowee Road. Pseudoephedrine and other components used to manufacture methamphetamine were found inside of the vehicle.
The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force is comprised of deputies and officers with the Blount County Sheriff's Office, the Alcoa Police Department, and the Maryville Police Department. All investigators are members of the Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force.
