Sheriff's Office needs public's assistance in locating robbery suspect
Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong is asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspect who was identified as the man who robbed the Dollar General on Sam Houston School Road on December 22nd.
The Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division has a warrant for the arrest of James Cramin Meacham, III, 39. The warrant is for aggravated robbery. Meacham also has two outstanding warrants for failure to appear and one outstanding warrant for violation of parole. Meacham's last known address is 1279 East Harper Avenue, Maryville.
Meacham is wanted in connection with the robbery of a store clerk at the Dollar General on Sam Houston School Road on the evening of December 22nd. The store clerk told deputies a man approached the counter and demanded money from the cash register. He told her not to scream, and then lifted his shirt to show her the butt of a handgun in his waistband. He took the money out of the cash register and fled on foot in an unknown direction, and was seen getting into a 1980s brown or maroon sedan. Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Meacham as the man who robbed the store.
