BCSO places in Tennessee’s Best Looking Cruiser Photo Contest
August 11, 2025
Blount County, Tennessee – Sheriff James Lee Berrong announced the Sheriff’s Office placed in Tennessee’s Best Looking Cruiser Photo Contest sponsored by the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO). The Sheriff’s Office won Best Looking Cruiser in the category of law enforcement agencies with 101-200 officers. The winners were announced on August 8 at the THSO Lifesavers Conference and Annual Law Enforcement Challenge competition in Nashville.
In June, the Sheriff’s Office announced the competition and asked citizens to go online and vote for the BCSO cruiser. Thank you to everyone who voted! The BCSO cruiser photo was taken on the Foothills Parkway as the sun was rising over the Great Smoky Mountains. Congratulations to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. They received the most votes for their cruiser photo and received the top score overall.
Sheriff Berrong would also like to congratulate the Alcoa Police Department who placed second in the 46-75 Officers Category in the Law Enforcement Challenge competition. The Law Enforcement Challenge recognizes the achievements of law enforcement agencies statewide for their efforts in reducing traffic-related injuries and fatalities by excelling in child passenger safety, drug recognition, teen driver safety, traffic enforcement, and more.
This was the 37th year for the THSO Lifesavers Conference, and the 21st year for the Annual Law Enforcement Challenge. The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has participated in 20 of these competitions (with 2024 being the exception) and has placed first through third in a majority of the competitions.
