Greenback men arrested following Narcotics search warrant

Maryville, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong announced investigators with the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force along with Blount County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 5430 Cedar Church Lane in Greenback that resulted in several arrests:

Dennis Lee Thomas, age 55, Cedar Church Lane.

– Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) for resale

– Possession of Schedule V (Gabapentin) for resale

– Maintaining a Dwelling for drug use

– Three (3) counts of sale and delivery of Schedule II (Methamphetamine)

Jeffrey Wayne Cummings, age 48, Cedar Church Lane.

– Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) for resale

– Possession of Schedule IV (Alprazolam) for resale

Bond amounts and court dates have not yet been set.

William Ray McBurnette, age 38, Cedar Church Lane, was arrested on unrelated warrants.

These arrests are the culmination of a short term investigation involving the distribution of illicit narcotics by these individuals. During the search warrant, investigators seized 6.5 grams of methamphetamine, 8 dosage units of gabapentin, 9 dosage units of Xanax, and drug paraphernalia.

The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force remains committed to working to keep illicit drugs out of Blount County by thoroughly investigating all narcotics-related complaints. The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force is comprised of deputies and officers with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, Alcoa Police Department, and Maryville Police Department.
