Investigators arrest Maryville man on multiple child sex abuse charges
Blount County, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said investigators placed a Maryville man into custody today on multiple counts related to child sex abuse.
Timothy B. Wheeler, 63, of Hallerins Court, Maryville, is charged with the following:
- Rape of a child
- Continuous sexual abuse of a child
- Incest
- 4 counts of aggravated sexual battery
Sheriff’s investigators opened an investigation in September after receiving information that Wheeler sexually abused a juvenile female family member. The investigation revealed that Wheeler sexually abused the juvenile multiple times beginning at the age of six until the age of 11.
Wheeler is in custody at the Blount County Correctional Facility on bonds totaling $1,050,000 pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court. The court date has not yet been set. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
