Joint investigation leads to arrest of Lenoir City man

Maryville, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong and Maryville Police Chief Tony Jay Crisp announced that felony vandalism charges have been brought against a Lenoir City man for damaging several ALPR (automated license plate readers) systems in Blount County.

Adam Lee Heimerman, 37, of Lenoir City, was served warrants for four counts of felony vandalism. Deputies placed Heimerman into custody Thursday and he is being held in the Blount County Correctional Facility.

Deputies and officers with the Sheriff’s Office and Maryville Police Department first discovered the damage to the ALPRs on July 25 which led to a joint investigation between the two agencies that eventually led them to Heimerman as the suspect. Following his arrest, Heimerman admitted to investigators that he used a gun to shoot four ALPR systems between July 14 and July 22 – three in Blount County and one in the City of Maryville. Evidence shows that Heimerman accessed one of the ALPR systems in Blount County from the property of a house of worship as citizens were attending church services.

Heimerman is being held on bonds totaling $40,000 pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. on August 5, 2026.
