Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy Class 035 honored with ceremony

Maryville, Tennessee – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong honored the 26 graduates of Class 035 of the Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Monday evening during a ceremony at the Blount County Justice Center.
Monday evening marked the 35th graduating Citizens Academy class. The graduates who attended the program spent one evening a week for 11 weeks learning about the different operations of the Sheriff’s Office. Students also took part in some hands-on learning experiences.
The mission of the Sheriff’s Citizens Academy is to increase communication between the Sheriff’s Office and the community to make citizens better informed of BCSO operations. The Sheriff’s Citizens Academy is offered at least once a year, and announcements are made on our Facebook page and website.
Congratulations to all of our new graduates. It was an honor to get to know these members of our community.
